The Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, is the supreme law of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and has the power to override all other laws and Constitution in Ethiopia. It was first adopted on 21 August 1995, and has been in force since then. The Constitution was first drafted by the Constituent Assembly, which was elected in June 1995, and then adopted by the Transitional Government of Ethiopia in December 1994.

The Constitution contains eleven chapters, and has been divided into five sections. The first section is the Preamble, which sets out the founding principles of the Constitution. The second section deals with the separation of powers, and the third section contains the rights and freedoms, including the right to free speech, free press, free association, free demonstration, and freedom of religion. The fourth section provides for the election of the President of the Republic, and the fifth section contains the provisions for the election of the National Assembly, the Senate, and the House of Representatives.

The Constitution is considered to be the supreme law of the country, and all courts and government bodies are required to take it into account in their rulings.
